element to an outfit.

December 2011 - New
styles for the Retro Collection
Introducing my Polka dot daisy necklace / brooch and my Escher
cube choker necklace.
Polka dots are the fashion statement for summer,
and this matinee length necklace combines the
fun of polka dots and the sophistication of the black &
white palette that is the statement on
European catwalks for the summer.
My Escher cube pendant has a mesmerising, 3
dimensional effect. My design was inspired by the
work of M. C. Escher, the Dutch illusion artist during the
1940’s and 1950’s. It’s a slightly smaller,
detailed piece, but very eye-catching.
December 2011 –
Kirkcaldie & Stains
I am pleased to announce that along with Smith
& Caughey, and H & J Smith, Kirkcaldie & Stains
are now stocking my Retro Collection.

August 2011 - Launch of the Retro
I am proud to launch my very first fashion jewellery range,
the Retro Collection.
Since studying art at secondary school I have been fascinated
by black & white designs and the art
of the 1920's through to 1960's including Art Deco and abstracts.
I have also been an admirer of
fashion revolutionaries, including Mary Quant, and fascinated
by the film costumes from the great
years of Hollywood.
These are the influences of my first Retro Collection, and
it seemed appropriate to restrict the
colour palette to black & white. It is crisp, clean and
I was encouraged to develop a fashion range by Smith &
Caughey's jewellery buyer, and I am very
proud that the collection will be stocked in Smith & Caughey's
Queen Street & Broadway – Newmarket
stores from the beginning of September. It will soon be available
from a number of other quality
stockists around the New Zealand.

April 2011 - End of event selling
Like many fledgling designers and businesses in New Zealand,
I started Just Gorgeous by selling
my jewellery at special festivals and events around Auckland,
Franklin, Coromandel Peninsula,
and parts of the Kapiti Coast. Sonia, Alison and I have enjoyed
the festive atmosphere of these
events, have met some really lovely people and appreciated
the unique opportunity to get feedback
from our customers about my designs and fashion trends.
With interest in my Just Gorgeous jewellery
from top ranking galleries and stores, it's time to move on
to making Just Gorgeous selectively available around New Zealand
through a limited number of quality retail galleries.
From June 2011, we will no longer be selling at events or
festivals, but you will be able to purchase
Just Gorgeous jewellery through this website or by visiting
our select stockists.
2010 - New Zealand Fashion Week
I was invited by emerging fashion designer, Ana Hau,
to provide the jewellery for her "Asian Antique
Affair" collection as part of the Miramodo Show
for New Zealand Fashion Week on 24 September 2010. Ana
won the Miramodo Haute Couture Collection award in Wellington
this year and I love her exquisite, feminine tailoring
with rich fabrics and lace and feather detailing. I
have provided a collection of black and bronze oversized
pieces which work beautifully with Ana's designs.
